Sully Island fall 'zombie' Tracy Morgan flown to hospital
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-29129201 Version 0 of 1. A woman dressed as a zombie had to be airlifted to hospital after falling 15ft (4.5m) down a cliff edge at an event in the Vale of Glamorgan. Tracy Morgan, 37, from Bridgend, suffered a head injury and bruising in the fall at a fancy dress "Zombie Survival Weekender" on Sully Island. "I was covered in blood and looked like something out of a horror film," she said. Organisers stopped the Pirates versus Zombies event after Friday's incident. Ms Morgan was airlifted to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff for treatment. Paul Gallone, of HM Coastguard based at Penarth, said: "We understand that the lady was attending an organised event and sustained her injury after falling down a bank whilst erecting a tent. "Given the nature of the lady's injuries and the terrain of the island and causeway, an airlift was determined as the safest option." According to the organiser's website, the event on "zombie island" was to have offered 36 hours of "zombie survival learning" with bushcraft and foraging skills. The aim of the weekend is to "escape the zombies" but participants are warned they could become the undead if they failed. |
