Tour of Britain cycle race reaches climax in London

Thousands of people turned out for the closing stages of the Tour of Britain race in central London on Sunday.

Defending champion Sir Bradley Wiggins was victorious in the first race of the day, the individual time trial.

Fellow Briton Mark Cavendish was pipped to the line by Marcel Kittel in the final stage - held over 10 laps of the 5.5 mile (8.8km) time trial circuit.

Dutch rider Dylan van Baarle won the overall race with Poland's Michal Kwiatkowski second and Wiggins third.

Racers took in views of the Houses of Parliament and the London Eye as the tour reached its climax.
