Police have seized drugs worth up to £350,000 in a raid at a house in Rhondda Cynon Taf.

A 33-year-old man has been arrested following the operation in Tonypandy.

Officers found the drugs, believed to be cocaine, in a box concealed in plastic packaging.

Det Ch Insp Mark Lewis said it was a "substantial recovery of cocaine which will undoubtedly have a huge impact on the supply of drugs throughout Rhondda".

South Wales Police executed a search warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act using special entry teams and search officers to gain access to the property.

The drugs and suspected drug cutting agent, together with processing equipment, were recovered.

Mr Lewis said: "Today's seizure is the result of some excellent proactive work and shows how we relentlessly pursue drug dealers.

"I ask communities to continue to work with us as they are our eyes and ears, which are vital in the fight against organised crime.," he added.
