Authorities find body of British man missing since Mexican hurricane

Version 0 of 1. Authorities have found the body of a British man missing since hurricane Odile swept through parts of Mexico more than a week ago.. Paul Whitehouse, 45, had been missing since Odile struck the Baja California peninsula on 14 September while he was on a yacht with his wife, Simone Wood, also 45, whose body was found at the weekend. The two Britons were found on the island of El Mogote, near the state capital, La Paz. The discovery raised the official death toll from the hurricane to six. “Six people have now lost their lives due to the effects of hurricane Odile,” Baja California Sur state prosecutor Adonai Carreon said. Two South Korean mining executives, a German man and a Mexican were the other victims of the storm, which wrecked luxury hotels, destroyed homes in poorer neighbourhoods and knocked out water and electricity services. |
