Version 0 of 1.

People aboard a Mexican sailboat rescued a fisherman who had been adrift at sea for a week after his boat was swamped by a tropical storm. The thin, exhausted man was floating in a giant foam cooler, normally used to hold his catch, about six miles off Acapulco, the sailboat’s captain, Roberto Odis Vázquez, said Wednesday. The rescued man, identified as Raymundo Rodriguez, 45, had caught a seagull for food. “The poor man, he didn’t want to let go of that seagull,” Mr. Odis Vázquez said. A 69-year-old companion of Mr. Rodriguez was found dead in the swamped boat.
