http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-29367937 Version 0 of 1. A former British army employee has been arrested in the Metropolitan Police's investigation into alleged corrupt payments to public officials. The 25-year-old woman was detained by officers at her Nottinghamshire home before being held in custody at a police station in the county. The woman was arrested under Operation Elveden on suspicion of conspiracy to commit misconduct in a public office. Elveden was set up following the News of the World phone-hacking scandal. The woman, who was arrested at about 06:00 BST, is the 87th person to be held as part of the inquiry. Operation Elveden was established to investigate allegations of inappropriate payments to police but was widened in January 2012 to include other public officials. It is being overseen by the Independent Police Complaints Commission. |
