Chile: Explosive Device Kills One Person in Santiago
Version 0 of 1. A homemade bomb exploded in Santiago, Chile’s capital, on Thursday, killing one man, the police said. It was the latest in a string of mostly small-scale bombings that officials say have been carried out by anarchist cells. The authorities said they could not confirm whether the man was handling the device or was a passer-by on the street when the bomb exploded. No one has claimed responsibility for the blast. This month, 14 people were wounded when a bomb exploded near a subway station. Two people have since been arrested in that attack and are being held, and a third is under house arrest while the investigation continues. |
