A teenage boy has been jailed for 25 years for the murder of his "kind and caring" 17-year-old girlfriend, who was stabbed to death in Surrey. A teenage boy obsessed with a TV serial killer has been jailed for at least 25 years for murdering and dismembering his 17-year-old girlfriend.
Elizabeth Thomas was found dead in a flat in Amy Road, Oxted on 24 January. Guildford Crown Court heard Steven Miles stabbed Elizabeth Thomas to death before cutting up her body with saws in his bedroom.
Steven Miles, 17, was arrested at the scene and charged with murder a week later. He was arrested at the scene in Amy Road, Oxted, Surrey, on January 24.
He pleaded guilty at Guildford Crown Court on 9 September and was sentenced at the same court. Jurors heard Miles, 17, who admitted murder, had a fixation with the lead character in the US series Dexter.
He was given a life sentence and told he must serve at least 25 years before being considered for release.
The teenager, who had been diagnosed as having an autistic syndrome, told his family that a voice in his head named Ed told him to kill someone.
