The live broadcast of BBC Radio 5 Live was temporarily interrupted this morning as the station switched to pre-recorded material. The live broadcast of BBC Radio 5 Live temporarily went off air this morning as staff were evacuated during a fire alarm.
The radio station, based in Salford, played an interview conducted by Richard Bacon during the disruption at around 10.30am. The radio station, based in Salford, played pre-recorded content during the disruption at around 10.30am.
It is not yet known why the live broadcast was interrupted, although the station appeared to have returned to its schedule before 10.45am. A BBC spokesman said the station was off air for around ten minutes.
The spokesman said: "A fire alarm and evacuation of Quay House at Media City led to BBC Radio 5 live and BBC Manchester being off air for around ten minutes. 
"Pre-recorded content was aired on both stations. This was a false alarm and is being investigated."
