(1 day later)
A major incident has been declared at Scunthorpe General Hospital after a water pipe burst on site. A number of patients had to be moved out of Scunthorpe Hospital after the building lost its water supply.
A spokesperson for the hospital said there was no drinking water and toilet flushing was also affected. Three thousand litres of bottled water was bought in from supermarkets after a main in the hospital grounds burst - cutting off drinking water on Saturday.
A spokesperson for the Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust, that runs the site, asked people to "not attend A&E where possible". A spokesman for the Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust asked people to "not attend A&E where possible".
Those needing medical attention have been advised to contact their local walk-in centre or out-of-hours GP. The supply was reconnected by Anglian Water late on Saturday night.
In the event of an emergency people should still call 999. Some patients were discharged while 12 were moved to other hospitals during the disruption.
Any visitors to the hospital are being urged to bring bottled water with them.
