Thousands of runners are pounding the streets of the capital as the Cardiff Half Marathon gets underway. Kenyan athlete Boniface Kongin has won the Cardiff Half Marathon but has just failed to break the course record.
About 21,000 runners are believed to be taking part in the annual 13.1-mile race, which was started by former world champion hurdler Colin Jackson. He crossed the finish line outside the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in a time of 62:02, 11 seconds short of the record set in 2013 of 61:51.

The women's race was won by fellow Kenyan Purity Kimetto. Last year's winner - who remains the race record holder - Kenya's Loitarakwai Lengurisi came second this year.
The first British runner to cross the finish line was Ryan McCloud, who came fourth and the first Welshman to finish was Ieuan Thomas in a time of 65:37.
Joan Chelimo, from Kenya, was the first woman.
