She said: "We have restored power to around 7,000 customers so far and we will continue to carry out repairs and restore electricity supplies as safely and quickly as possible. The Met Office has issued a yellow warning - meaning "be aware" - for heavy rain and strong to gale force winds moving eastwards across Scotland. That will stay in place until 16:00.
"There are over 200 individual faults, many of these affecting small pockets of isolated customers and it may take some hours before these repairs can be completed." And it has issued a yellow warning for severe gale forces winds - to come into effect at 21:00 - for parts of north-east Scotland.
A further yellow warning for rain, for north-east Scotland, will come into effect at 02:00 on Tuesday.
'Severe damage'
A spokeswoman for Northern Ireland Electricity said it had been in "regular contact" with the Met Office over the weekend.
She said there were 180 individual faults on the network, mainly in coastal and isolated areas.
"We have restored power to over 7,000 customers since the storm hit in the early hours of the morning, but the repair process may take some time due to the isolated nature of the faults and the severity of the damage in some areas," she added.
