Durham's first comic festival was a sell-out with organisers already looking ahead to next year.

About 500 people attended King Con at the Gala with many turning up in costumes from their favourite films, TV shows and comic books.

One of the main attractions was Red Dwarf star Norman Lovett who was signing autographs.

Organiser Dan Pye said: "We had a fantastic day. Here's to the return of the King in 2015."
