http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/oct/13/floods-in-europe-share-your-images-videos-and-stories Version 0 of 1. One person was killed in Genoa, north west Italy last week, after torrential rain caused flash flooding in the city and nearby regions. Thousands of people were forced out of their homes in Montpellier in southern France on 7 October as as heavy downpours caused devastation there, twice in one week. The EU has just announced a €80 Million aid package for Serbia, Croatia and Bulgaria after flooding disasters struck those countries in May and June, earlier this year. If you’ve been affected by recent flooding, we would like to hear from you. Show us how bad the devastation has been in your area by sharing your photos, videos and stories. We’d also like to find out about the effect on your community. Are the floods encouraging people to assist each other? Is enough being done by the authorities for the people and areas worst affected? Though we’d like to hear from you, your safety and welfare are most important – so please think about this when recording and again when sharing your content with us. You can share your photos, videos and stories by clicking on the blue ‘Contribute’ button on this article. You can also use the GuardianWitness smartphone app or the new Guardian app and search for ‘GuardianWitness assignments’. Please write in English if you can, though we will be able to translate a small amount of text. We will use the most interesting contributions in our reporting. |
