West Midlands police said the man was then taken to a hospital in the city but was pronounced dead. Several shots were fired after a disturbance in the pub, which spilled out onto the street.
Detectives have appealed for anyone who was in the area at the time of the shooting, about 0745 GMT on Sunday, to come forward. West Midlands Police said the local man was then taken to hospital after Sunday morning's incident, but died a short time later.
A post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
Police said it is not known how many offenders were involved or how they escaped.
