An 11-year-old boy has died after being hit by a car on the A90 Aberdeen to Dundee road on Friday evening.An 11-year-old boy has died after being hit by a car on the A90 Aberdeen to Dundee road on Friday evening.
Police said the boy, who has not been named, died from his injuries in Aberdeen Sick Children's hospital. Police said Bobby Douglas, from nearby Newtonhill, from his injuries in Aberdeen Sick Children's hospital.
He was knocked down on the A90 at Newtonhill in Aberdeenshire at 18:20. The road was closed for about five hours for investigations. He was struck by the car near to the Newtonhill flyover on the A90 in Aberdeenshire at 18:20.
Sgt Steve Milne said: "We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward." Police have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or saw any children crossing the carriageway prior to the collision to contact them.
He added: "It is vital that we piece together what has happened. Witness accounts are key to this and a full investigation into the circumstances is now under way."
