A man is in custody on suspicion of assaulting a woman after police were called to an incident at a home in the St Mellons area of Cardiff. A woman from Mountain Ash who was found assaulted at a house in Cardiff has died, police have said.
South Wales Police said officers went to the property in Drawlings Close shortly after 13:00 GMT on Saturday, where they found a 48-year-old woman from Mountain Ash had been assaulted. A 66-year-old man who was initially arrested on suspicion of assault remains in custody in Cardiff Bay police station.
A 66-year-old man was arrested and is in custody at Cardiff Bay police station. South Wales Police said they were not looking for anyone else in connection with the 46-year-old woman's death.
Police have appealed for information. The incident in Drawlings Close, St Mellons, was reported shortly after 09:30 GMT on Saturday.
Witnesses can contact them on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111. Officers who attended found the woman injured and arrested a 66-year-old man.
On Sunday, police said the woman had died.
