A shocked bus station user has described the moment a woman was knocked down by a bus and later died. The incident happened at the Lisburn depot in Northern Ireland on Monday morning, operator Translink said. The transport centre has been closed. Jo-anna McLucas was at the bus depot. She said: “I was on the phone and I heard a bang, I looked up to see what had happened. The bus had hit the wall and I walked outside and there was a small gap between the wall and the bus and I could see there was someone on the ground.” She said she did not know then if the woman was dead or alive at that time. A Translink spokeswoman on Monday said: “We can confirm that a fatal incident occurred in Lisburn bus centre today, around 10.15am. Emergency services attended the scene. A full investigation is under way.” |
