An inquest into the death of a Denbigh pensioner who died while out walking on the Greek island of Crete will be held in January.

The body of 73-year-old Arthur Jones was found under a tree in a rural area near the Chania resort in August, more than six weeks after he went missing.

The former soldier's disappearance sparked a large search involving family, friends and police.

The inquest will be held at Ruthin Coroner's Court on January 7.
