A 16-year-old boy has been charged on suspicion of producing cannabis after plants with an estimated street value of about £200,000 were found in Bolton. Greater Manchester Police seized 535 plants at a house on Cyril Street, Great Lever, on Tuesday. They found a cannabis farm on the first floor and in the attic of the two-bedroom mid-terrace property. The teenager, who was also charged with abstracting electricity, will appear at Bolton Youth Court later. PC Carl Boydell said: "The electrics had been tampered with and in doing so created a very real fire risk that put innocent neighbours in jeopardy. "Thankfully, the electrics have now been made safe and that risk has been averted. "I would encourage anyone with suspicion that a cannabis farm may be in a neighbouring property to call us in complete confidence." |
