Police searching for a man who went missing a month ago in Shrewsbury have found a body.

The body of a man was pulled from the River Severn near Cressage at 12:25 GMT.

Daniel Hodgin, 20, was last seen near Shrewsbury's Buttermarket nightclub on 23 November, prompting a search involving hundreds of volunteers.

Formal identification has yet to take place, but Mr Hodgin's family have been informed, West Mercia Police said.

Officers said they were treating the death as unexplained.

Det Sgt Rob Mountford said: "I would like to thank West Midlands Search and Rescue Team for their help.

"The investigation into Daniel's disappearance still continues."
