Four held after St Leonards hit-and-run cyclist death

A cyclist has been killed in a hit-and-run in St Leonards, Sussex Police said.

The 23-year-old man was hit by a Ford Focus on the A259 at Grand Parade at about 04:00 GMT. He was declared dead at the scene.

The car was found abandoned about a quarter of a mile away and several men were seen leaving the vehicle.

Three men, one aged 33 and two aged 24, and a 17-year-old boy have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Two of the arrested men - the 33-year-old from Bexhill, and a 24-year-old from Hastings - were also arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink.

The other, a 24-year-old, also from Bexhill, was held on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking.
