A light aircraft has come down in woodland south of the A303, close to Popham airfield in Hampshire. Two people have died and another is critically ill after a light aircraft crashed in woods in Hampshire.
South Central Ambulance Service said it had been called to Blackwood Forest just before 15:30 GMT and had sent three ambulance crews and its Hazardous Area Response Team. Emergency services were called to Blackwood Forest, south of the A303 near Popham airfield, just before 15:30 GMT.
Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service sent 25 firefighters to the incident. A Hampshire Police spokesman said one person was in a life-threatening condition at Southampton General Hospital.
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight air ambulance was also sent. It is not known if there were any casualties. Twenty-five firefighters are also at the scene.
A Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "A light aircraft came down and overturned in a patch of woodland half a mile south of A303 just down from Popham at Blackwood Forest. The Hampshire and Isle of Wight air ambulance was also sent.
