Four women have been killed in a crash in County Kildare in the Republic of Ireland. Four young women have been killed and a fifth woman seriously injured in a crash in County Kildare in the Republic of Ireland.
A fifth woman, who was travelling with them, is in a critical condition in hospital. The women, one aged 17, two aged 19 and a 20-year-old were passengers in a car which collided with a van at about 21:45 GMT on Tuesday.
It happened when a car and van collided shortly before 22:00 GMT on Tuesday on the N78 at Burtown, near Athy. The 20-year-old driver of the car is in a serious condition in hospital.
