Police have launched a search for a woman, who was last seen in the River Tawe in Swansea late on Saturday night. Police have found a body of a woman in the River Tawe in Swansea, after launching an extensive search
The woman, in her 20s or 30s, was spotted in the river at Quay Parade in the city centre at around 2300 BST. A woman, thought to be in her 20s or 30s, was spotted entering the river at Quay Parade in the city centre at around 2300 BST on Saturday.
Emergency services say the woman, believed to be Polish, has still not been found, despite an "extensive search". Police said a woman's body was found in the area at 1045 GMT on Sunday and a search of the river bed called off.
South Wales Police are appealing for witnesses to contact Swansea Central CID on 01792 45699. Further investigations are being made to formally identify the woman and to inform next of kin.
A force spokesman said the woman was seen to enter the river. South Wales Police said the body matched the description of a woman seen entering the water on Saturday night.
She is described as around 5ft tall, with blonde hair and athletic build and was wearing a pink blouse and blue jeans.
