A defibrillator was used to revive the youngster who is expected to make a full recovery. Stunned fans watched as an ambulance drove on to the pitch to assist McCabe while medical staff used a defibrillator to help revive him.
Both Hamilton Academicals medical staff and Clyde doctor Frank Dunn, a consultant cardiologist, treated McCabe. The teenager, who only joined the side in March, was taken to Hairmyres Hospital in East Kilbride and later transferred to Wishaw General, where he was said to be recovering well on Sunday.
An NHS Lanarkshire spokeswoman said: "Ross is in a stable condition."
The incident took place ten minutes before the end of the game with both Hamilton Academicals and Clyde doctor Frank Dunn, a consultant cardiologist, treating McCabe.
