Houston Texans star J.J. Watt responded to a 7-year-old athlete who had earlier sent him a care package that included a signed Pee-Wee jersey and a note describing how he and Watt were alike because they were were both the “most feared” defensive ends.

Watt didn’t just answer Pee-Wee player Anthony Tarantelli’s package with an autographed jersey, though; Watt also sent along an autographed hat and the pair of cleats he wore this season when he recorded three sacks against the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to TMZ Sports, who spoke to Tarantelli’s dad.

In a letter included with the gear, Watt told the younger Tarantelli “to stay confident in himself, and keep working hard,” Anthony’s dad said, adding, “For J.J. to actually follow through and hook the kid up with the gear … it was a pretty sweet move.”

The family was most excited about the cleats, which still had mud on them and featured the phrase “3 sacks” on the side.

Of course, Watt’s not the only nice guy in the NFL. There’s at least one more, as demonstrated by Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson. He was the only team owner who wrote back to a 12-year-old kid from Yukon, Oklahoma, who sent all 32 NFL teams hand-written letters at the end of December and beginning of January offering up his fan allegiance.

“My family and I love football. We play fantasy football and watch NFL games every weekend,” Cade Pope wrote some 32 times, Yahoo! reports. “My parents are St. Louis Ram’s fans. My brother is a Kansas City Chiefs fan. I don’t have a team to cheer for yet. I am ready to pick an NFL team to cheer on for a lifetime!”

Richardson responded in kind with a handwritten letter of his own that landed in the Popes’ mailbox last Thursday.

“We would be honored if our Carolina Panthers became your team. We would make you proud by the classy way we would represent you,” Richardson wrote.
