Derby County fan to wear Nottingham Forest shirt at match

A die-hard Derby County fan will risk taunts and jeers when she wears a Nottingham Forest shirt at this Saturday's clash between the two sides. To raise support for an anti-bullying charity, Rams season ticket holder Lisa Howard will wear a Forest shirt. She said it was "her worse nightmare" but worth it to help the Diana Award charity. The East Midlands derby is considered one of the fiercest rivalries in English football. Ms Howard, a pastoral support worker at Alfreton Grange Arts College, in Derbyshire, has been a lifelong Derby County fan. 'Worthy cause' Julia Day, a pupil at the school, challenged her to wear the top from her usual seat behind the dugout. Miss Day, 17, said: "I wanted to show, no matter what team you support, we can be united and end bullying together." Ms Howard said: "It's my worst nightmare. It took a lot of thought for me to do it but it's for a worthy cause. "I will just hold my breath and hope I don't get too much abuse." The pair hope the stunt will raise £500 for the Diana Award, which supports anti-bullying ambassadors in schools around the country. |
