Share with us: your insights and pictures of Cuba
http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/jan/15/share-your-insights-pictures-of-cuba Version 0 of 1. Friday 16 January marks a historic step in relations between the US and Cuba: travel restrictions will be eased, and travellers will be allowed to bring back products of Cuban origin, including up to $100 of Cuban cigars. For many, of course, it’s a moment to see family and friends – perhaps for the first time in years. While would-be visitors to Cuba still must fall into one of 12 designated categories, the easing of the sanctions removes the need for a licence. Travelling to Cuba will become much simpler for those who meet the requirements, but don’t make any plans just yet. For the rest of us, it still means only a limited glimpse of Cuba. In anticipation of tomorrow’s changes, we want to hear about Cuba from our readers, and, especially, from Cuban nationals. Whether you know Cuba well or have just visited once, we’d like you to share your insights through your words and pictures. We will feature our favourite selections in a gallery. You can share your photos and videos with us by clicking on the blue “Contribute” buttons. If you’re out and about, you can download the GuardianWitness app or look for our assignments in the new Guardian app. We will publish the most interesting contributions on the Guardian website. |
