Version 0 of 1.

A man Indonesian police have been hunting for months over the death in Bali of an Australian businessman has been arrested.

Six people face charges carrying the death penalty over the alleged murder of Robert Ellis, 60, in October last year.

Among them are his wife of 25 years, Noor Ellis, who police allege ordered the hit when their marriage turned sour.

Adolf Malo Rangga, 34, was arrested on the island of Sumba, east of Bali, on Saturday night.

Police said they found Rangga at home, and that he was surrounded as he allegedly tried to flee through the kitchen. He was taken into custody pending transfer to Bali.

Police allege Robert Ellis was killed in the kitchen of his Sanur villa before his body was wrapped in plastic and dumped in a ditch.

In custody are the couple’s two maids, accused of abetting the crime, and the boyfriend of one of the maids, to whom Noor Ellis allegedly paid almost $15,000 to “solve her problems”.

Two other men – one of whom is accused of slashing Ellis’s throat – were arrested in dramatic fashion in November after hiding out in the Sumba jungle. They fought police with poison arrows and machetes before officers eventually shot them in the legs and apprehended them. One remaining suspect is still at large.

Prosecutors hope to bring Noor Ellis to trial in February.
