Version 0 of 1.

A man is to stand trial accused of falsely claiming former cabinet minister Ken Clarke sexually assaulted him more than 20 years ago.

Benjamin Fellows, 40, from Solihull, is charged with perverting the course of justice by alleging the MP for Rushcliffe in Nottinghamshire behaved indecently towards him in 1994.

A High Court judge will be appointed for Mr Fellows' trial, which is due to start in July.

He made the claim in November 2012.

Mr Fellows, from Redstone Farm Road, Olton, is next due in court on 20 March for a plea and case management hearing.

Former justice secretary Mr Clarke, 74, has been an MP since 1970 and is contesting his seat at the upcoming general election.
