Two bodies, thought to be those of an elderly couple, have been found at a caravan park in Newcastle, County Down. The elderly couple found dead in their caravan in Newcastle, County Down, on Wednesday have been named locally as Francie and Nan O'Reilly.
Police said they had gone to a caravan site on Tullybrannigan Road in Newcastle at about 15:00 GMT on Wednesday. Their bodies were found at Bonnys caravan park on the Tullybrannigan Road.
It is understood the deaths, at Bonnys caravan site, are being treated as suspected carbon monoxide poisoning. A multi-agency investigation is trying to establish if their deaths are linked to carbon monoxide poisoning.
Police said a multi-agency investigation was now under way into the cause of the deaths. The couple were in their mid-70s. Their bodies were found at about 15:00 GMT on Wednesday.
BBC News NI reporter Mervyn Jess, who was at the scene, said it was understood, but not yet confirmed, that the two who had died were a retired couple.
