Father calls out his daughter’s racist bullies (and their parents’ unbelievable response) in emotional video
Version 0 of 1. A father has taken to YouTube to shame bullies who bombarded his daughter with racist abuse on social media. In an emotional video posted this week, Brad Knudson plays back recordings of bullies calling his daughter a “sl*t” a “fat*ss bi*ch” and a “nig*er” over Snapchat. Mr Knudson’s daughter, from Prior Lake in the US state of Minnesota, was adopted and is of African American descent. He recounted how he approached the parents of the twin bullies only to be told that there was nothing wrong with the abuse. He says he was himself then subjected to abuse by the parent, playing back voicemail messages on his phone in which the parent referred to him as a “ni*ger lover”. “I have a beautiful African American daughter who I love more than life itself and would do anything for,” he said in the video. Mr Knudson says he intervened in the bullying because family friends had recently lost a child to suicide, which he attributed to bullying. “A week and a half ago some of our very good friends, their son committed suicide at the age of 13 because of bullying. At that point it dawned on me we can’t have this hanging over us and my daughter thinking the worst.” The racist parent of the bullies, who Mr Knudson named as Deron Puro, is reported by local news station FOX13 to have been sacked from his job after the incident. Commenters on YouTube praised the father for standing up for his daughter. "I hear this has gone viral, well as far as I am concerned, not viral enough," said Gord Birch in a highly rated comment. Another commenter, Sheng Her, added: "The father of the twins definitely showed where the kids got their attitudes from. He's not repentent at all so there's no doubt that his children believe they're not doing any wrong either." "You're a wonderful father to stand up for your daughter." |
