Here’s the first photo of Poirot star David Suchet as Lady Bracknell in Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest. In playing Algernon’s snobbish aunt in the classic comedy, Suchet follows in the footsteps of Geoffrey Rush and Brian Bedford who both took on the role in 2011. The new production, directed by Adrian Noble, will open at the Vaudeville theatre in London on 1 July 2015. Previews start on 24 June. In the meantime, revisit some of the actresses who have played the part. |
