Police have launched a murder inquiry after a man died following a fight they believe involved a machete outside a pub.

Gloucestershire police said the 19-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene after being attacked near the Pike and Musket pub in Tuffley, Gloucester, at about 12.40am on Saturday.

Officers said two other men, aged 18 and 22, were also assaulted by an offender armed with a weapon believed to be a machete. The 22-year-old was taken to Gloucestershire Royal hospital with serious injuries, where is in a stable condition after surgery. The 18-year-old sustained minor injuries.

In a statement confirming details of the incident, Gloucestershire Constabulary said: “Police are treating this as a murder investigation and would like to speak to anyone who witnessed what happened in the pub’s car park or was in the area around the time of the incident and may have seen something which may help with inquiries.”
