Cities across much of the north-east of the United States have shut down, bracing for a massive snowstorm that could dump up to 60cm (24in) of snow on New York and Boston. Residents of cities across much of the north-eastern United States have woken up to heavy snow, with up to 60cm (24in) still expected in places across New York state, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
