Not content on collaborating with artists such as Charli XCX, Britney Spears and Kylie Minogue for his latest album, Giorgio Moroder has ventured further into the world of contemporary pop by producing tracks for Lady Gaga.

The disco producer said that he has a number of tracks prepared for the singer’s forthcoming album, although studio time was halted after Moroder caught a cold, he told Popjustice.

“I was supposed to be in the studio with her a week ago, but I got a cold. I’ll see her when I’m back. I have about five or six tracks, just basic ideas. Drums, keyboard, bass. I’m going to be surprised, I think – I don’t have a clue about the way she’s recording. Will she play the piano? Will I?”

Although this material is intended for the follow-up to Artpop, Moroder also stated he would like one of the songs recorded in these sessions for his own album: “If I could convince her, well that would be incredible.”

While little is known about Gaga’s fourth album, Moroder could be one of many producers on board for the pop star’s latest – she has recently suggested that The Fame producer RedOne is on board.

Meanwhile, the beat maker behind I Feel Love has been gearing up for the release of his first solo album in 30 years, following his return to the limelight, which began with the Daft Punk collaboration last year.

“Seventy-four is the new 24!” the 74-year-old declared in a press release on the announcement of his full-length recording, due out in spring 2015. His collaboration with Kylie can be heard below:
