EIS union warning over teacher shortages in Aberdeen
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-north-east-orkney-shetland-31037848 Version 0 of 1. Teachers in Aberdeen are being stretched to breaking point by ongoing staff shortages, a union has warned. The EIS teaching union said staffing levels were now a "significant problem". It claimed that the city, Aberdeenshire and Moray were among the areas worst affected in Scotland. Aberdeen City Council is already offering incentives such as so-called golden hellos to attract teachers. The authority also recently offered to pay the tuition fees of council staff who wanted to become primary teachers. |
