Version 0 of 1.

For this week’s assignment we’re interested in seeing your photos, videos and stories of the main street in your town, city or village after ascale sent in the above photo of the main street in Reykjavík.

ascale said: “The main street of your city, town or village can act as a central point for local communities. It can be a place for congregation, offering people a sense of belonging and identity. Or it can be used simply as a navigational tool. What’s unique about your main street?” Show us the main street where you live and we’ll feature the most interesting on the site.

Share your photos, videos and stories by clicking on the blue ‘Contribute’ buttons. Or if you’re out and about you can download the GuardianWitness app or look for our assignments in the Guardian app and search for ‘GuardianWitness assignments’ – and if you add it to the homepage – you can keep up with all our assignments.

If you’d like to contribute an idea of your own, you can do so in Send us your assignment ideas.
