Ferry services hit by 'blockade' Sailings resume after strike ends

Some ferry services from the Port of Dover have been suspended because of a "blockade" in Calais. Ferry services from the Port of Dover have resumed following industrial action by fishermen in Calais.
SeaFrance and P&O Ferries said they had halted crossings because of action taken by fishermen at the French port. P&O Ferries said they started crossing again at 1230 GMT once the nine-boat demonstration had left the harbour.
SeaFrance and P&O Ferries suspended their cross-Channel services to Calais after the industrial action by Boulogne fishermen began at 0930 GMT.
Passengers have been warned to expect delays but P&O said it hoped to get things moving as quickly as possible.
A spokesman said: "They made their point for three hours and they have gone away. We are three hours behind schedule but we are starting to return back to normal now."
