Rob Ford sells football tie from crack-cocaine confession on eBay

Version 0 of 1. Rob Ford, the controversial ex-mayor of Toronto who admitted to smoking crack cocaine, has put items of memorabilia up for sale. The councillor in Canada’s biggest city is being treated for liposarcoma, a form of cancer described as difficult to treat. He is auctioning off some of the memorabilia he has collected over the years, including what appears to be the football tie he wore when he admitted to smoking crack cocaine. In the eBay description Ford said the tie was the “only one of these in existence”, featuring logos from NFL teams past and present. Previously he had announced he would be selling memorabilia with 10% of the proceeds going towards research and care facilities for liposarcoma. An assistant to Ford did not say what would be done with the rest of the money. Ford’s term was plagued by scandals involving drinking, crack cocaine use and erratic behaviour. Other items put up for auction included a Saskatchewan Roughriders football jersey and patterned pants he was photographed wearing on a shopping trip to Wal-Mart. The listings said the items would come with a certificate of authenticity signed by Ford. |
