Det Supt Paul Hurley, of South Wales Police, told a press conference in Cardiff Bay on Friday the arrested man was not part of the group of friends staying at the caravan park with Conner. | |
"Our thoughts are with Conner's family and all those affected by this tragic incident," he said. | |
"This was a brutal attack and I believe the suspect may have shared information with friends, relatives or neighbours." | |
Ysgol Bro Morgannwg in Barry, where Conner was a former pupil, said it had received news about his death "with sadness". | |
"We extend our sincere sympathies to his family and friends," a statement read. |
