Men arrested over Sheffield and Rotherham child abuse

Two men have been arrested as part of an investigation into child sexual exploitation in Sheffield and Rotherham.

A 33-year-old man was arrested on Thursday at an address in Sheffield and a 23-year-old man from the city was arrested on Friday after handing himself in at a police station.

Both men have been released on bail.

The arrests are part of an investigation into the abuse of underage girls between 2005 and 2009.

The 23-year-old is suspected of kidnap, false imprisonment, rape and causing a child to be a prostitute.

The 33-year-old is accused of two counts of sexual assault and conspiracy to commit rape.

Three men, aged 21, 23 and 28, were arrested last month and remain on police bail in connection with the investigation.
