Man charged after teenage girl attacked in Dunfermline Man in court over abduction and rape in Dunfermline

A man has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged attack on a teenage girl in Dunfermline. A man has appeared in court in connection with the abduction and rape of a 15-year-old girl in Dunfermline.
The serious sexual assault is believed to have happened in the Kingseat Road area of Halbeath between 18:00 and 20:00 on Thursday. Mark Armstrong, 26, who is from the Fife town, appeared in private at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
Police Scotland had appealed for anyone with information about the attack on the 15-year-old girl to contact them. He is accused of one charge of abduction and rape, three of assault and robbery and one of drug possession.
A spokeswoman said a 26-year-old man was due to appear at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Monday. Mr Armstrong made no plea or declaration and the case was continued. He was remanded in custody until next week.
The alleged rape was said to have happened in the Kingseat Road area of Halbeath between 18:00 and 20:00 last Thursday.
