A New York inmate has been accused of peddling pain pills to other inmates at Rockland County jail by smuggling the drugs in his rectum, according to the Journal News.

Bryan Lora allegedly was caught last week with about 50 oxycodone pills on his person and in his cell, and the inmate admitted to selling the narcotics to other inmates at the jail. It is not clear how Lora obtained the pills.

Lora has been charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, a felony, as well as seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree promoting prison contraband, both misdemeanours.

The accused jail drug dealer originally was behind bars on drug charges, as one of 22 people busted in an undercover drug sting in Rockland, New York.

Lora has been arraigned and has been sent back to jail, and he will reappear in court on Friday.
