Version 0 of 1.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission is to investigate allegations of corruption in the Metropolitan Police, including claims that it covered up child sexual abuse by senior officers and MPs.

One of the allegations refers to Dolphin Square, an apartment block near the Houses of Parliament where sex parties involving under-age boys are claimed to have taken place.

The IPCC’s inquiry covers 14 referrals spanning four decades from the 1970s to 2005. The Met said it had voluntarily referred the allegations, which arose from an investigation launched in 2012.

They include claims that an abuse victim’s statement was altered to omit the name of a senior politician and that no action was taken over a document from the Houses of Parliament listing MPs and senior police officers involved in a paedophile ring.

Another allegation is that an investigation into a paedophile ring, in which a number of people were convicted, did not take action against other more prominent individuals.

It is also alleged that a politician had told a senior Met officer that no action was to be taken regarding a paedophile ring and boys being procured for Westminster VIPs.

There are claims that a surveillance operation of a child abuse ring was shut down due to “high-profile people being involved”. Police officers are claimed to have sexually abused a boy and carried out surveillance on him.
