Twitch hack: Amazon gaming site says user details may have been stolen Sorry - this page has been removed.
(about 2 months later)
Amazon Twitch unit has warned of “possible unauthorised access” to some user account information on the live-stream gaming network. This could be because it launched early, our rights have expired, there was a legal issue, or for another reason.
Twitch said it had expired passwords and stream keys, and disconnected accounts from Twitter and YouTube to protect the users. In an official blogpost, Twitch administrators continued:
You will be prompted to create a new password the next time you attempt to log into your Twitch account. For further information, please contact:
We also recommend that you change your password at any website where you use the same or a similar password. We will communicate directly with affected users with additional details.
Sincerely,
Twitch Staff
Amazon bought Twitch Interactive last year for $970m, beating out a rival bid from Google.
