The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) have visited the site. The local education authority stressed that no child was put at risk by the collapse, which happened during school time.
A county council spokeswoman said: "It's an old school that's being demolished in a secure site.
"The incident happened in the site. It's being investigated. There were no safety worries for the pupils whatsoever."
