Version 0 of 1.

A car which paramedics use to quickly reach patients having heart attacks has had its sat-nav system stolen.

The "cardiac car" was parked outside the Ulster Hospital in Dundonald. The thieves smashed two windows to gain access to the vehicle.

The theft was discovered at about 0500 GMT on Saturday.

A hospital spokesperson said its only emergency cardiac response car being put out of action had put lives at risk.

Cardiac cars are used to reach patients ahead of ambulances to administer emergency care, and are equipped with specialised equipment.

Police have appealed for anyone with information about the theft to contact them.
