Russian citizens will today get a chance to question their leader, Vladimir Putin, about how much he knows about the shooting of MH17, how much he dislikes Barack Obama and who exactly murdered prominent opposition politician Boris Nemtsov.  

Or rather, the Kremlin has sifted through nearly two million emails, video messages and texts to decide which questions are the easiest to answer, will ensure Russians feel better about the economy and inflate the ego of their dear master.

The annual Q&A certainly gives Putin sufficient air time. Last year he spoke for nearly four hours while in 2013 he managed four hours 47 minutes, a Vladimir record. A call centre in Moscow said 200,000 questions were submitted in the first hour of lines opening and Edward Snowden participated in the event last year.
